Hogwarts

When a Box Turns Into a Castle

Back in December, a small box arrived from LEGO.
Inside were a handful of not-yet-released sets.
A little collection, really—my favorite car, a sidecar, a kettle, a beautiful owl …and the Hogwarts Infirmary.

That last one did something.
It’s a modular extension.
A piece of something bigger.

And somewhere between opening the box and placing the first bricks, something clicked.

Without knowing it, LEGO had just gifted me my creative project for 2026.
Part of SiP’s Cinderella.

A project named Hogwarts.

Convincing my partner in crime didn’t take much.

She already loves the Harry Potter universe, so the idea of expanding beyond that single set quickly turned into:

“Okay… but then we need the rest of the castle.”

The main tower.
The Great Hall … and then some.
Xmas presents sorted.

And watching the movies again.
Rediscovering.

And now—here we are.

Easter weekend.
Konst på väg.
Vita Magasinet.
The castle is there.

Not complete—but present.
A foundation.

Something that will grow.
Over the coming months, it will expand.

A harbour.
The train station.
More stories.
Emerging scenes.
And even more magic.

But every project needs a beginning.
For me, that meant going back to where it all started.

Portraits.

The first series of images focuses on the characters—simple, close, and personal.
LEGO portraits, just like I used to shoot them.
A return to the roots, before the world gets bigger.
Before the castle fully rises.

This is just the beginning.

It’s been a while

It’s been a while; I realised that when I recently looked back at an image I once thought might open a new chapter here.

It never did.

The photograph stayed on its own, doing its quiet work, while the words waited.
The world, meanwhile, didn’t really slow down.

If anything, it feels just as unsettled now as it did the last time I wrote here a good 4 years ago — different, yet still very much in turmoil. But this isn’t an attempt to make sense of that, or to add another reflection to things already heavy enough.

This post is much simpler.
It’s about picking up the thread again.
Breaking the silence. Getting some acoustic chords out.
Letting the flow slowly start again.

Not to comment on the world as such, but to share a few reflections around the creative projects that are slowly taking shape around me.

Some of them live within familiar territories.

There is Cinderella within the SiP sphere, growing quietly through collaboration and shared conversations with the crew. There is me2, where LEGO photography remains my personal creative playground and happy place — less about output, more about staying curious. Here too, I feel a shift coming.

And then there is Vita Magasinet. A chapter of its own.

With Konst på Väg during the Easter weekend as a kickoff for 2026. Vita Magasinet, where physical space, local context, and temporary encounters matter just as much as global connections and long-standing friendships around the world.

And then there is Project H.

A project I didn’t plan.

It started almost accidentally, when I received a box packed with LEGO late last year — the kind of box that carries more intention than you realise at first glance.
I won’t unpack all of that just yet.
There will be time for that story later.
But something shifted there.
Not a single image idea, not even a scene — more a sense of place.
Of adventure.
Of mixing realms, once again.

So this post isn’t an announcement.
And for sure it’s not a manifesto.
It’s not a cry for attention or reach.

It’s simply me picking up writing again, here in my personal space, slowly, alongside the work. Letting this place be where thoughts can surface before they turn into objects, exhibitions, or photographs on walls.

In hindsight, it might have started with that pixie.
The one I encountered on a recent walk.
A small thing, carrying more intention than expected.

For now, that’s enough.
